How does a bulldog hinge work on a chain link fence gate?

Bulldog hinges attach directly to gate posts, with one hinge at ground level and the other(s) above. Included U-bolts secure the hinges to the post, and the teeth keep them in place once tightened. After mounting, the back of the top hinge is removed to accommodate the gate frame, though it will have some loose play. The weight of the gate rests on the bottom hinge, helping to evenly distribute it into the ground. For proper alignment, the gate needs a 1-2" extension that slides into the top hinge, or a bottom ball can be driven into the vertical frame.
